No RV's! Quite and private
My husband and I just went camping here and had a wonderful relaxing time. Night sky was the best I have seen in ohio as we were looking for a place far from the city to see shooting stars and not crowded with wanna be campers with excessive lights. The pond was a nice place to try to fish as we had no luck catching anything. They have an old zip line across the pond which make it difficult to cast without catching the wire. The way to the campsite is down slop so people with motorcycles or non suv or 4 wheel drive might have some difficulty getting up or down but it should be fine if u know how to drive. We were they only ones there for the night so it was very very quiet. I gave it 4 stars as the owners were difficult to get a hold of with pricing and in and out times. Which the price is 15 per night. We did not see the owners there it works off honor system with paying. Make sure u bring a pen to register there. Don't know what kind of animals live in the woods. Cows in the field next door didn't smell or make tons of noise. There was a house on the hill but unsure if it was the owners house, and a building next door. Had firewood for 3 bucks a bundle. Close to Amish country. Would definitely come back! My kinda place to camp!
Fantastic little place right off the highway! It is a hidden gem. Excellent price for beautiful camping pitches, hot showers, and welcoming people! We were just passing through but wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you very very much!
Primitive to the T! I loved it! Wished we could've spent more time at our site! Will definitely keep in mind for our next trip to Holmes County!
A great place to stay if you enjoy primitive camping. What you get is a place to pitch your tent, a fire ring, a port a pot, and more quiet nature than you can find just about anywhere. What you don't get is a paved pad to park your RV on, hookups, and another huge RV 10 feet away. It's a good place to stay if you're bicycle touring. It's only 1.5 miles from the Holmes County Trail but that last hill is a monster. Well worth the effort it takes to get there.
